Interior Views is a photographic series that documents homes that were slated for demolition or renovation – the materials and objects of which Terris salvaged for use in his 2009 installation
Ought Apartment. These photographs are a considered attempt to emphasize the role played by objects in culture to allow the viewer to witness the fugitive character of their own commitment to consumption. Ideas of conservation, maintenance and sustainability permeate the work, reflecting the artist’s commitment to the enduring nature of material culture and its ongoing implications for lived experience.
